Production and Service Engineer

About the role

The production and service engineer will focus primarily on assembly, service and repair of iotaSciences robotics products. This will be a hands-on role, involving building small production runs and servicing instruments.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and proactive individual, with a strong background in engineering or a similar technical subject. The production and service engineer will join the engineering team responsible for the design, development, production and support of iotaSciences products and technologies.
Being a young and developing company, each individual is involved in a wide range of activities depending on the immediate needs of the company. In addition, every member of the team is expected to actively contribute to the continuous improvement and development of internal and external processes. This is both a great opportunity to gain experience across many departments but also an opportunity to grow with the company. Specialisation over time is expected including development into a team lead role.

Job Responsibilities

• Assembly, QC and shipping of instruments and consumables in low volume.
• Service and repair of instruments, either by arranging returns to iotaSciences or visiting customer premises. As such, short duration international travel is expected.
• Support of customers with troubleshooting, training and documentation.
• Support and management of distributor relationships.
• Management and development of inventory and workspaces used for manufacturing and maintenance.



• Strong practical ability.
• Evidence of education in engineering/physics/science or related field.
• Previous experience assembling and/or fixing electromechanical products. Non-work activities will also be considered.
• Free to travel internationally.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in wider company projects when needed.
• Proven capability of working independently.
• Ability to design and implement new processes.


• Previous experience as service and/or production engineer.
• Basic understanding of biology.
• Experience with building and/or programming robotics.
